PJ Our Way kids are invited to a book talk with Anishinaabe and Ashkenazi Jewish high school student Willlow Podemski-Bedard, as she discusses Emily Bowen Cohen’s novel Two Tribes. This charming graphic novel tells the story of Mia, a Jewish and Muscogee girl who travels from California to Oklahoma to reconnect with her American Indian father while staying true to her Jewish identity.

Willow Podemski-Bedard is an Anishinaabe and Ashkenazi Jewish high school student raised in Barrie, Ontario. Rather than following in her family’s footsteps in the performing arts, Willow is pursuing a life in the academics. She is motivated to break boundaries and share experiences of Indigenous and Jewish history.

This is a free program for children ages 9–12. Parents are welcome to attend as well if they wish.

The first 15 registrants will get a free copy of the book. 

Light refreshments will be served. Kashrut observed.
